According to Gorazd Humar and Bogdan Kladnik's book SLOVENIAN BRIDGES, Part 1, Napoleon's bridge in Ajba is at the very top of the list of importance, as only three Napoleon's were among the elite; including this one from Ajba. In addition to the time and manner of its construction, this bridge is also important because, already in the Venetian Republic, it was the main route through the Soča Valley and into Friuli.
