Tree park in Ročinj

One of the most beautiful tree parks in Posočje has been created for more than three decades in Ročinj in the Soča Valley. Local resident Rudolf Brezavšček has planted over 200 trees and shrubs, which, especially in autumn, create a real tree fairy tale. The design for his arboretum was first created by the landscape architect Jožica Golob Klančič and further developed by Rudolf Brezavšček, with smaller trees and shrubs to the south, tall trees to the east to defend against the storm, and taller trees to the west. The trees include redwood, fir, pine, American cypress, yew, cedar, ginkgo, maple, pine, sophora, gingko, etc.).

The tree nursery is open to groups of 5 or more at Ročinj 7 (on the main road to Tolmin), by prior arrangement with Mr Rudolf Brezavšček. Information: 00386 41 848 250.
